Forest School
Forest School is a child-centred educational approach that is increasingly being recognised as an innovative way to get children active and learning. It allows them to learn, explore and play in a safe and natural setting, and offers opportunities for holistic growth through play exploration and supportive risk taking.
This hands-on experience helps to develop team working skills, improve confidence and enable self-led learning for some of the important life lessons that cannot be taught within the classroom. Our founder Matthew Whittaker began his early years in industrial Blackburn, before relocating to the rural village of Warton. Finding the contrast truly striking, Matthew finally was able to engage with nature in a way that he had never been able to in his previous urban setting. He found the move to be truly transformative and enjoys being able to provide children with a little slice of that experience through Green Touch Landscapes.
As our green spaces are continually diminishing it is our intention to enhance whatever space you have, in order to maximise its potential for outdoor education.
